Is a New Career as a Dental Assistant Good for You?

I’m Dr. DeJesus, and if there’s one thing I love, it’s dentistry. It gives me satisfaction and pride to teach and help others. Through the years, I’ve met lots of people who are interested in joining the dental profession. “Dentistry is a grand career, and I am very happy to impart knowledge as well as the passion to help other people.”

There have been times wherein a shortage of qualified dental assistants has been experienced in the US. Because of this, I founded the Sunny Willow School of Dental Assisting in the state of Connecticut, where students go through 13 weeks of dental assisting education. In this school, I put in my years of knowledge, experience and passion. Today, I run the school during the evenings with subjects two days every week in addition to my private practice. The whole program is completed in the course of just 13 weeks. Compared to other schools, students at Sunny Willow School of Dental Assisting finish in more than half of the time, plus they spend a small fraction of the tuition fees.

The U.S. Department of Labor Statistics shows that there is in fact a current shortage of professional dental assistants. Anyone, including you, can help impact a difference in others’ lives and health. Many aren’t familiar that this career exists; however, the Bureau of Labor Statistics says that dental assisting ranks third in the fastest growing careers that do not require a college degree. The employment prospect for the field is projected to grow even faster than average throughout the year 2016.
